Ron Coleman’s pretty good blog

Favorite righties

Posted by Ron Coleman on October 1, 2007

Right Wing News did a survey among right-of-center bloggers (including this one) searching for their most-admired public people on our side of things. Here are the results. The top ten, in reverse order:

10) Victor David Hanson – 9
10) Laura Ingraham – 9
10) Dick Cheney – 9
9) Rudy Giuliani – 10
8 ) George W. Bush – 11
6) Fred Thompson – 13
6) Thomas Sowell – 13
5) Newt Gingrich – 14
4) Mark Steyn – 17
2) Michelle Malkin – 19
2) Ann Coulter – 19
1) Rush Limbaugh – 28

Interesting, I guess. I see a couple of names here I should have thought of; some I did “vote” for; and a couple I wouldn’t.

It says something about right-wing bloggers that, among the top 5 most admired, Newt Gingrich is probably the most moderate of the bunch.

    [shudder]

    What exactly does it say?

    Let me guess.

    They are RIGHT WING bloggers?

    Say it ain’t so…..

What it says is that “the right wing” is now so far off the charts that Joe Lieberman and John McCain are considered “moderates.”

Bush? Why? Seriously…what has he done that you like?

  5. Dave, his resoluteness on Iraq will be seen by history as heroic.

    Like Johnson’s!

  7. Big fan of Thomas Sowell…

  8. Dave, your comments are so last spring. (Link added Tuesday — RDC.)

Not so sorry to tell you, we’re going to win this one — despite the best efforts of the surrender party.

Echo chamber alert: I agree with Ron.

He nailed it on points 5 and 8.

“we’re going to win this one”

For like the thousandth time, what does “winning” look like?

  11. It doesn’t look like this, Ara. Unless you’re on the other side.

OK, you need to fix that link. It’s broken.

And since you didn’t answer my question, I’ll ask it again: what does “winning” looks like?

  13. We leave how and when we want to leave, or not at all — if we choose.

Not if, when and how Al Qaeda or Iran chooses.

    (And the link works fine.)

It is interesting that on the list of people mentioned by Right Wing Bloggers, very few of them are known as primarily right wing bloggers. I see Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds on there. Anyone else?

Well, I’ve always advocated declaring victory and coming home, but this is ridiculous.

We leave how and when we want to leave

Right. The surprise factor! Al Qaeda wakes up one morning and — we’re gone! Like we disappeared in a cloud of fog, a sandstorm!?

It would be like the Rapture!

Al Qaeda would be left behind.

    Brilliant.
