GOP horse race at the conservative blogs
Posted by Ron Coleman on October 26, 2007
Fred #1, Rudy #2 — a better showing by Giuliani among right wing bloggers than a lot of other right wing bloggers were expecting, I think.
But, not unexpectedly, “strong negatives.” A lot of that going around… wonder why?

Political campaigns
Cox is unique among the 2008 Republican candidates for President in that he has never been elected to any government position above a board of education.
In 2000 John Cox ran for Congress in Illinois’ 10th District to replace retiring Congressman John Porter, losing the Republican Primary race that was won by former Porter aide Mark Kirk.
In 2002 Cox ran for U.S. Senate in Illinois on a conservative platform, aligning himself with “Reagan Republicans.” Again, he lost the Republican primary with 23%, losing this time to Jim Durkin. Cox later served as president of the Cook County Republican Party.
In 2004 John Cox garnered 41.43% of the votes against long-time incumbent Democrat Eugene Moore in the Cook County Recorder of Deeds race. Cox said he decided to run for the office in order to eliminate the position; he saw the office as an unnecessary duplication of services and had become a “model of waste and corruption.”
