Key McCain endorsement, but not from Hot Air

Posted by Ron Coleman on March 26, 2008

Ed Morrissey (blogging at Hot Air?! what did I miss?) writes about Hugo Chavez’s “Anyone but McCain” declaration (via Insty).

The obvious observation, of course–so obvious I wasn’t going to make it, because it is almost trite–is that this is as strong an endorsement of McCain that anyone interested in freedom or democracy could hope for. This should include conservatives. Axiomatically. And indeed, this point is made by HotAir commenters.

What is extraordinary is that Ed, a great blogger, can barely bring himself around to make this point, and hedges so apologetically that it’s hardly worth the effort.

I don’t think it’s Ed, though. I think it’s Hot Air, the red-meat, no-things-in-moderation blog.

Which side, exactly, is Michelle Malkin on?

The opinions of someone who is always wrong or always hostile are valuable. With predictions, consistency is more important than polarity.

Really. I have to believe that the number of people who even know who Hugo Chavez IS (as compared to, say, Jason Castro) is infinitesimal. If McCain is counting on that “endorsement,” then he really IS in trouble.
