Diagnosis confirmed

Posted by Ron Coleman on February 17, 2009

I’ve been saying for years how dangerous this is:

Paul Schipper, an avid skier who obsessively hit the slopes every day of the season for more than 24 years, has died. He was 85.

Cut down in the prime because he wouldn’t just sit down and read a book already.

When will people hear?

An 80+ year-old friend of ours goes skiing and sailing every year. My 75 year old dad still windsurfs – they’re some of the happiest ‘elderly’ people I know.

  2. Well, then I guess you wouldn’t want them to read this story about another senior-citizen death linked to skiing, huh.

In what way does this link his death to skiing? He passed away due to complications from pneumonia, the man was 85! He lived a great life! The streak was from 1980-2005… how would that have killed him? C’mon now.

I’d like to die at the age of 105 after a day spent motorcycle racing and surfing.

  5. Well it looks like I need to find a way to put my tongue a little more affirmatively in my mouth next time I try this…
