A little historicism there

Posted by Ron Coleman on August 2, 2007

Instapundit, again:

THE NEW YORK TIMES: “Caps on Prices Only Deepen Zimbabweans’ Misery.”Well, that’s what price controls usually do.

Price controls usually deepen Zimbabweans‘ misery? That would explain a lot. I think a lot of countries would use them if they only hurt Zimbabweans. Not that that’s right, but you know — beggar thy neighbor. But that does explain a lot about Zimbabwe.

We also are inventing baseball

Posted by Ron Coleman on July 27, 2007

“Russia seeks to claim Arctic seabed.”   They’re going to plant a little flag there.  Once a commie, always a commie, eh?
Does that make the moon ours?  Or are we going to have to play rough?

Secret cosmonaut tapes?

Posted by Ron Coleman on July 26, 2007

Could it be? A little creepy to consider. Of course, we don’t speak Russian around here. These could be tapes of the Pinsk school board.

UPDATE:  On the other hand, I guess we should be pretty glad — in retrospect — that they weren’t able to tune in our guys.

Bring ’em home!

Posted by Ron Coleman on July 22, 2007

Harvey at IMAO brings the perspective of the reality-based community home:

During New York’s Wednesday rush hour, a steam pipe exploded, killing one person and injuring 44.Incidents such as this make it obvious that the only sensible course of action is to withdraw from America’s insane War on Steam.

But who will listen?

Rudy squares the circle

Posted by Ron Coleman on May 10, 2007

The Dawn Patrol explains why Rudy had to give to Planned Parenthood:

Giuliani explained that he was personally opposed to his contributions but made them as a matter of conscience. “I cannot impose my morality upon anyone, including myself,” he said. He added that if elected president there would be nothing he would hate more than appointing pro-abortion judges to the Supreme Court.

Ooh, I hate when that happens!
